Acer palmatum 'Anticipation' Red Lace Leaf Japanese Maple

'Anticipation' is a dissected red-leafed cultivar notable for its exceptionally late spring emergence, typically leafing out in mid to late April, which provides natural protection from late frosts. The foliage displays deep red coloration in spring that persists well through summer heat, transitioning to bright red in autumn. Growth habit is somewhat irregular and still being evaluated, though mature specimens reach approximately 4-6 feet in both height and width, similar in size to other Japanese maples in its category.
