About
Acer oliverianum subsp. oliverianum, known as Oliver's maple, is a heat-tolerant Chinese species with kelly green foliage that persists nearly throughout the growing season. This mid-sized cultivar grows vigorously, reaching approximately 18 feet in 25 years, and tolerates full sun in warm climates without leaf scorch, making it well-suited to Southern gardens. Fall color transitions to brilliant golden yellow and radiant orange. This specimen was wild-collected by Anthony Aiello in the Qinling Mountains of Shaanxi and Gansu during a 1996 expedition.
