About
'Shuriken' is a hybrid between Acer japonicum and Acer palmatum that combines the deeply lobed, star-shaped foliage characteristic of A. japonicum with the vigor of A. palmatum. The leaves display more pronounced, jagged edges than typical full moon selections, creating a distinctive throwing-star appearance. This cultivar typically reaches 12-14 feet in height within ten years and develops bright orange and red fall color. It exhibits strong growth habit and fine texture in the landscape.
