Acer floridanum

Acer floridanum is a heat-tolerant alternative to the northern sugar maple, native to the deep South and adapted to climates where typical maples struggle. Its foliage resembles that of sugar maples, with reliable fall color in warm regions, notably displaying orange hues even in areas where heat typically suppresses seasonal change. This cultivar selection grows as a medium to large tree, reaching 20-30 feet at maturity, and performs in part shade to full sun exposure.
