Acer fabri

Acer fabri is a rare, semi-evergreen maple from Vietnam and China distinguished by unlobed, glossy green leaves with reddish new growth in spring, an atypical foliage form that departs markedly from typical maple architecture. Behavior varies by climate: it remains fully evergreen in mild conditions but becomes deciduous when exposed to temperatures consistently below 20°F. Growth habit produces a small tree reaching 10-20 feet at maturity. Best performance occurs in sheltered locations with light shade to partial sun.
