Acer campbellii ssp sinense Rare Chinese Maple

Acer campbellii ssp. sinense is a Chinese maple closely related to the Japanese maple, distinguished by large chartreuse-green palmate leaves that emerge in early spring and exceed those of Acer palmatum in size. The tree develops an upright, mid-sized form, reaching 12-15 feet in 20 years, with exceptional fall color ranging from bright orange to deep red. Hardy across a wide range of climates, thriving in the heat of the Carolina piedmont and cold winters of the mid-Atlantic, it performs well in zones 7-9.
