Acer campbellii ssp. flabellatum

Acer campbellii ssp. flabellatum is a Chinese maple species with deeply lobed leaves that emerge bright red to purple before maturing to green through summer. The foliage transitions in fall to shades of yellow, orange, or red depending on growing conditions. This deciduous tree develops an upright habit, reaching approximately 15 feet in height at maturity. It performs well in part shade to full sun and remains uncommon in cultivation.
